Actually, it was your browser that messed it up by using HTML tags
instead of plain text. There is nothing in the forum that would create
HTML tags in your posts out of thin air. :-)

The reason why you are seeing them in this forum is that HTML code is
disabled here, so <BR> will just read <BR> instead of creating a line
break.

May I ask if you also use FireFox as your browser?
