Yes, I've tested GCDROM, it's included in our Live CD. It "seems" to work (it doesn't crash, but I don't know anyone with a SATA-connected drive - the controllers are detected, though).

The disadvantage of GCDROM is the fact that it doesn't support EIDE, so you have to use two drivers. And I don't know of any DOS driver for PCI RAID controllers (not onboard)...
