So it apparently hangs somewhere between hard_init and read_dos, but
only if it booted from a CD. I will have to check which routines
could make it go into an endless loop.

Do other versions of DR-DOS work?

DOSLFN is still needed for most tasks that require LFN
functionality. I plan to add more to the kernel in version '09.

Regarding the problems with the USB drivers, could you be a bit more
specific?
