Okay, maybe, it'll let me post now? It keeps giving me error messages and saying the topic already exists...

It seems that alot of what I want has already been done, and very nicely I might add.

The only cons are the terrible battery life (1.5 hours with pcmcia card used and 3 without), the lack of hard drive (forcing me to use my cf cards and drain the battery) and the fact that it's only made in Japan and has a Japanese keyboard layout, though that last can be easily overcome. Actually, it's a plus in one way, since I know the machine will be high quality. The modem, while it is for voice, data and fax, is extremely slow. But I can always get a faster one. On the up side, keyboard, mic, speaker with soundblaster and modem are all built right in, it's got an 80486 (instead of 80186 like on the HP 200LX), so it could handle newer programs, and I could use one card slot for a 4gb card and one for my KeyNote Gold VoiceCard synthesizer, so that I don't have to lug around an external one if I didn't want to. But if I did, it's got the serial port for that too, plus the parallel for my printers. I might even be able to have a technician change the floppy drive for one that could read standard disks and superdisks. Maybe, there's a slightly better version of this computer, either from IBM or from another company. If so, it's probably a pentium, since along with the faster speed comes more options.

Anyway, I continued to research this little gem and found this.

Their size specifications are different from the ones at the first site and definitely more desirable (6.22'' by 4.45'' by 1.30'' and 1.58 lb. (s). I also found out that it can be fitted with a camera card so I can make videos. The more I read about this handheld, the more I'm loving it. It can be fitted with any DOS-compatible system, which most likely includes Enhanced DR-DOS and you can even install Windows 95 on it if you want. I'm still gonna look to see if a newer one is available, but I'm pretty much sold on this, if I can find it. so have any of you used this or a similar machine? If so, how did you get it and how well does it work?
